December 2022 Mission Offering:
Columbus Club House

Our Mission Offering in December will go to Columbus Club House.

This will also be our Christmas Eve Offering. Columbus Club House has been meeting the needs of working families in the Columbus area since 1989. The project was founded by Kiwanis and United Methodist Women. Through concerted efforts of community organizations, UWEX, Columbus School District, ecumenical church support, and concerned citizens, as well as businesses and industry, the State Licensed program became a reality.

Club House currently serves families on school days before and after school. The program is held in the new Columbus Elementary School in a beautiful new space. The afternoon program operates from school dismissal at 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is licensed for 25 and attendance is steady. The morning program is in operation from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and currently has openings. Club House also offers a full day program at Columbus UMC on days when school is not in session.

Club House faces many challenges, including staff shortages and budget issues. Club House will need financial help, as well as volunteers, to operate their school year and summer program this year. Due to COVID, they were unable to have their traditional fundraiser dinner in February 2021. The revenue loss created a financial deficit. Plans are in the works to do a Fund Raiser in spring of 2023. Details will be forthcoming.

This is a good time to remind ourselves that as members of the United Methodist Church, we pledge to support our Missions with our prayers, our gifts, and our service. Club House has lovingly been called the House that our church built!!

Monetary donations may be placed in the Offering Plate or mailed to the church.

The Community Meal

The Community Meal originated in 2010. It provides a FREE meal once a month on the fourth Thursday from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. All in the community are welcome to join us to dine in
or carry out. Please watch for upcoming posted flyers for the menu each month.

We celebrate that this meal develops many relationships within our community.
All who attend enjoy the fellowship as much as the food. Any monies collected through the freewill offering are used to support local food pantries and church missions.

Anyone who is interested in helping at the meals to prepare, serve, and/or clean up
or would like to sponsor a meal, which would be around $100, please contact
Mike Toth at 920-296-7629. We welcome all help and donations!

Thank you in advance on behalf of the Community Meal Committee.

*Please note: There will not be a 4th Thursday Community Meal in December 2022.
Please join us for our Holiday Community Meal on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
